Model Feelings w/ Aisha Awadallah

Every shoot begins and ends with just the model and normally with no assistance - something I am working on. It challenges me to streamline and keep my shoots short yet effective to get the result I want and try to aid in the models comfort and hope the feel beautiful and respected during the process. I often become friends with many models, particularly the repeat ones and they have thought me many lessons, them being open and trusting while demanding I trust and be open with them. A model symbiosis.

So I decided why keep this in my head, let me ask the models to write how was the experience shooting the photo session with me.

Please note: I did have an assistant Nikki for this shoot helping me apply dots.

My first entry was from Aisha Awadallah from my last Little Miss Polkadots shoot. She wrote:

Excerpts from Aisha:

Having the polka dots applied meticulously and painstakingly to my skin, from neck to toe, was an interesting exercise in patience and Zen. Standing still and erect for about two hours with the only moments of movement being limited to arching an arm this way or that way, or to stand on top of a chair to make certain areas easier to access was more mediative that I expected and made me appreciate the labour, thought, and love that went into this process. Omorphy was exceptionally professional, calming, and took great thought and concentration as to where and how to apply the dots along my body, and was exceptional in figuring out a pattern and design on the spot that would highlight features of my body better as well as accent my personality. It was a beautiful experience being crafted slowly into a piece of art, and with the dots lending a decorative element to my form I felt like a combination of sculpture and creature. The flowers he also arranged himself and applied to my headdress further added to this element, and the contrast of the color of the irises to the tone of my skin and black of the dots was quite striking. Having the dots slowly peeled off at the end of the shoot also further tested all of our patience and Zen, and the sensation was an odd combination of pain and pleasure; and only added to the appreciation of pain and time for the sake of art and beauty. Omorphy truly does have a rather unique, beautiful, and admirably artistic concept with his Little Miss Polka Dot series and it was an exceptional pleasure being a part of it.

Look forward to more testimonials.
